The Annecy Animation Film Festival has once again cemented its place as the premier event for animation enthusiasts around the world. This year's festival attracted a record-breaking 16,000 attendees, highlighting its growing influence and appeal.
The 2024 edition of the festival showcased a diverse range of animated projects, with a particular emphasis on the innovative trends evident in student films. These "fresh" projects, often reflecting recent global events, added a contemporary edge to the festival's offerings.
Among the numerous highlights was the much-anticipated “Annecy Presents” official selection, where T&B Media Global's film Out of the Nest secured a coveted spot among the twelve selected from over 3,700 submissions. The screenings on June 13th and 14th featured special appearances by the Arturo Hernandez - Director, Andrew Gordon - Co-Executive Producer, and Fabrizio Mancinelli - Music Composer, adding an extra layer of excitement for attendees.
The Annecy Animation Film Festival remains a vital platform for the animation industry, giving a voice to both established and emerging talents. Attendees had the unique opportunity to enjoy some of the year's biggest animated movies ahead of their general release, fostering a sense of exclusivity and anticipation.
This year's festival was marked by impressive statistics:
- 1,100 exhibiting companies
- 400 journalists
- 330 buyers
- 5 new countries represented: Isle of Man, Faroe Islands, Oman, Tanzania, Turkmenistan
- 595 works in the Video Library, with 389 still available for viewing until December 31st, 2024
The festival also boasted:
- 25,000 spectators at the Open-air screenings on Le Pâquier
- More than 600 volunteers
- A brand-new XR & Games Area
